SECOND INTRODUCTORY FILMMAKING WORKSHOPS
TO BE HELD IN AMMAN DURING JUNE 2003Preliminary Registration Begins Today
AMMAN, June 2, 2003 - The Amman Filmmakers Cooperative is happy to announce plans for the Second Introductory Filmmaking Workshop for June 2003. The workshop is free and is open to the general public.
The workshop fulfills a key pillar of the Cooperative's mission: to bring the art and science of filmmaking within reach of those who have the talent and interest as well as help the Cooperative identify exceptional talent in need of special attention and mentoring.
Priority will be given to residents of Amman and those who have their own video cameras.
The workshop will be held on a Friday during the month of June at a convenient location in Amman (most likely Books@Cafe). Training will last for approximately 8 hours.
Specifics about location and date of workshop will be announced based on responses we receive from interested participants.
The teachers are film professionals from our advisory board and others with an established track record.
Instructors will demonstrate during the workshop using video production gear.
Students with video cameras will produce a 2 minute short film, to be edited and screened the following Friday.
COMPETITION AND AWARDS
A competition for Best of The June Class award will be held after completion of workshop. The panel of judges will be composed of film professionals. A certificate of recognition will be awarded to the winners. Students with the most potential and those who can demonstrate above average filmmaking abilities will be offered more
specialized training and mentoring also free of charge. Exceptional students could receive a cash grant as well as access to digital video production equipment, at no cost, to assist in the production of their future film projects. More details will follow.REGISTRATION
