TEACHERS' CHOICE: A Selection of Cooperative Workshop Exercises.

In the course of training activities by the Amman Filmmakers Cooperative, some video production exercises attract the attention of instructors either because they make us laugh or because they take us by surprise. Typically, workshop exercises are displayed for feedback during workshops and that's the extent of their use. But a few
interesting exercise clips are archived for future demos.

For the first half of 2007, we have compiled a list of five workshop exercises titled "Exercise 2: Visual Storytelling" an exercise where students, after the first week of instruction, are given 6 hours and only a compact DV camcorder to write, shoot, and edit a video clip in the classroom, that tells a complete story without dialog. The
outcome is usually rough, but every now and then, the outcome is full of surprises.

We can't wait to see those students' first films at the Jordan Short Film Festival '07.
