JORDANIAN SHORT FILM "GROWING UP IN AMMAN'S SUBURBIA" HEADS TO SPAIN
(JORDAN - 5/21/2006) The Oscar-qualifying Huesca Film Festival has officially entered Jordanian short documentary "Growing Up in Amman's Suburbia" by Hazim Bitar into its international competition.
The experimental documentary, set in an impoverished Amman neighborhood, explores the relationship between the observed and the observer where the borders between fiction and non-fiction start to blur.
The AFC is a cultural initiative aimed at promoting independent Arab cinema.
