THE SAN FRANCISCO ARAB FILM FESTIVAL
TO SHOWCASE JORDANIAN INDIE FILMS
(JORDAN - September 27, 2007) The San Francisco Arab Film Festival,
the leading festival of Arab cinema in the USA, in collaboration with
the Amman Filmmakers Cooperative, will host a program of independent
Jordanian cinema to be held during the festival's 11the session,
scheduled to take place from October 18th until November 4th, 2007 in
San Francisco, California.
The selected Jordanian indie program will include the following films:
Sharar by Saleh Qasem, Ammar Quttaineh, Hazim Bitar; Overdose by Ammar
Quttaineh; Growing Up in Amman's Suburbia by Hazim Bitar; Little Feet
by Aseel Mansour; Three Eyes by Rawan Ziene; The Order of Out by Jafar
Safwan; What a Job by Omar Saleh and Mohammad Abujarad; and The Last
Patch by Rifqi Assaf and Omar Saleh.
"This program is very special for us. It's the North American premiere
for all the films selected, and the international premiere for Rawan
Zeiene's film Three Eyes," said Hazim Bitar, director of the Amman
Filmmakers Cooperative.
The Amman Filmmakers Cooperative is a Jordan-based cultural initiative
aimed at promoting independent Arab filmmaking.
